About the Hsu Yun Buddhist Assoc. & Temples

 

The Ven. Dao Chuan is a monk of the Minh Dang Quang Buddhist Temple in Tucson, AZ and the Vien Minh Buddhist Temple in Chandler, AZ. He is also affiliated with the Los Angeles Buddhist Union in Rosemead, CA.

The Hsu Yun Buddhist Association, plus the Tucson and Chandler temples are incorporated as non-profit corporations in the State of Arizona and are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as religious foundations and churches. They are approved under section 501-C-3 of the IRS code making all donations tax deductible.

The Ven. Dao Chuan is the on call Buddhist Chaplain for most hospitals in Tucson area. Both our temples in Tucson and Chandler, AZ have Vietnamese Buddhist nuns in residence who are available for religious counseling and visitation to the sick and dying.

The Tucson temple, Minh-Dang-Quang, is located at 140 E. Navajo Rd., Tucson, AZ 85705. Tel: 520-690-7972. It is between Fort Lowell and Prince roads and about two blocks east of Oracle Rd. The practice at this temple is both Pure Land and Chan (Zen).

Services are held every Sunday in English starting at 9:00 am. Services include forty minutes of meditation, chanting in English and then a Dharma talk. If you are new to meditation please come 15 minutes early so we can help you get started.

The Vietnamese language service starts at 11:00 am every Sunday and includes chanting and a Dharma talk.

The Chandler temple, Vien Minh, is located at 285 N. Comanche Drive, Chandler, AZ 85224. Telephone: 480-812-8810. It is located just off of Chandler Blvd. Regular Sunday worship services are provided as well as religious counseling.

We celebrate all Buddhist holidays including the Lunar New Year. Anyone interested in meditation or Buddhism is invited to attend any of our services. Our temples are open to all people. We offer teachings in traditional Buddhism, Chan meditation and provide a full range of religious services including, but not limited to; weddings, funerals, house blessings, visitation to the sick and the dying, etc.
